Silence and Roommates

Hey all, Dag here!
I'm sorry if you've all been waiting for me to post this next update up and a lot has, in fact, happened that I should have definitely updated on but I guess I was just way too lazy.
First, and most importantly, I have taken a voluntaryt vow of verbal dis-communication. Means I won't be talking for the next month to better understand... well it's to better understand something, I'm just not sure I understand it yet. It's all a little explained in my other blog.

On a completely unrelated note, I went to The Grand Thing a few weeks ago. At the monastary Raid, a part of the event where you storm a building full of loot and get to keep whatever you get out with, I made off like a bandit! Of course, this event was set up in teams and, in the end, we piled things on a rug and took turns picking out what we all wanted, from the least experienced to the most and repeating. I got my mom a carpet, a pair of shoes, a candlestick... and another thing I know I got her but I jkust can't remember. Regardless, I also got a bunch of other stuff including a little hammer I have named The Morgan, after the celtic goddess of Life, Death and War.

Ever the hypocrite, I went to the peace rally that happens once a week the very next wednesday, just two days after the event and held a sign for an hour and a half telling people to stop war XD

On some other good news, I now have a roommate. My near seven years best friend, Erik, moved in with me last weekend and we are making the steady change from my place being the single bachelor pad to a respectable home. The living room, study and bathroom are entirely clean.... Now we just have to go through the kitchen and my room >.<
Well, I'll tackle those projects silently when the time comes.

I suppose I havwe more to say but I don't really remember it. It probably wasn't as important as I thought it would be.

Trials and Canines

Hi All!
May Day weekend I went to Battle Ground, WA to take part in the gefoulge trials for my village, whoever won was the best fighter in the village. Sadly, I got beaten like a tent stake. However, not all was bad. I got second place in the spear throwing contest! At least I know that I am good at that. That night I lit the fire with knife and flint instead of lighters or a match, though we did end up needing some lantern fuel to kick things into motion. So I can't start a fire like a true medieval citizen, big deal XD

Also, just yesterday I came here to my sister's place, where I often blog from. XP
Today we decided, for some odd reason, that getting another dog would be great for her! So we hauled the baby and Gizmo (her first dog) into the car and drove off to the humane society for a new member of the family. We wanted a pit mix but they don't get along with female dogs if they are female and the one we wanted was. Instead we went for an Australian Shepherd named Rosie. She was so gentle and sweet. We introduced Gizmo and her at the place and they got along fine. She treats Nemi (my two years old niece) really carefully and is such a friendly little critter. we returned home and I gave her a bath. She was super grimy and matted up, still is a bit but at least now she smells good and is brushed out a little. Not much of a playful dog, honestly but she is such a sweetheart. She'll come right up to you and slam her nose against your hand for attention. So adorable!

Well... I suppose that's it ^^
Blog done!

David Gray

News and Stuff!

Hey All! David Gray here with anther blog post! YAY!

SCA war season started and last weekend I went to Hopping Phules War (Yes that is the cortrect spelling). We were outnumbered 2 to 1 and had only two archers while they had 8. Needless to say, we lost. Still it was a good event. Lots of fun partying and fun stuff that happened. It was up in Yakima, WA. The first night was VERY cold, below freezing. However, the second night was just a little chilly. I didn't even shiver when I was setting up my sleeping bag. At one point during the bridge battle (actually was on a bridge, which was awesome) They charged on the right side so I went to hit a few of them but saw a spear wiz by from my left so I turned. Soon as I saw the previous attacker another spear came out and bashed me in the temnple. I blacked out for a second but I got back up and walked away. I didn't fight again because I was just so dizzy! Still, I think it was a win for me in the end!

Recently I got in contact with my Birth Father, who I hadn't ever talked to. I was pretty worried about it at first but when I finally got to talk to him over the phone (He lives in Alaska) I found out he was pretty cool. Good to know he puts his pants on one leg at a time just like anyone else, ya know? I have two little brothers who I never knew about, which is pretty cool. The oldest brother, Gideon, who is seven, looks exactly like me when I was that age, right down to the funky lopsided grin and the same haircut. It's pretty cool. Apparently, for as long as my bio-dad had been married, everyone has known that, somewhere out there, my father had another son. My two little brothers aren't really old enough to understand it since they've never seen me but they know I exist. It was made pretty clear that I already have a father figure of a sort and I have a step-dad so he'll never be “daddy” but I still really want to get to know him better. I've always kinda wondered what my bio-dad was like, just out of curiosity, and I have to say I'm not disappointed. He's a cool guy and I look forward to talking to him more in the future. Who knows, maybe in a few years I'll find myself journying up to Alaska to meet him... and get some fishing done while I'm at it XD (Salmon the size of a small car I kid you not!)
Aside from that nothing much has been happening in my life. The major highlights are bio-dad and Hopping Phules War. Someone in Michigan invited me out for Border War (Another SCA event) and I so wish I had the money for it T_T Maybe next year or somethin like that. I have also decuided that I'm going to sign up for FAFSA so that I can go to college. My buddy Colin has been bugging me for a couple years and I have been futzing around and not doing it. Now I think I'll get off my fat rear and do it. It's about time I put some academic initiative forth in my life! Wish me luck, guys!

After WAY Too Long

Hey everyone! I have been absent WAY too long from posting on here T_T I apologize for that but I guess I have just had my mind on other stuff or somethin like that. Mostly stuff that didn't matter anyway. Regardless, I am posting here now ^^

Now... What's happened since I last updated. Oh! I moved into a new place in Beaverton, Oregon! It's about a block away from the library and local park. It's really nice there and, once again, all to myself! Over Christmas I got really sick and 6 weeks later I got better. I got a tattoo now, which is awesome. It's a celtic knotwork style sword on my upper right arm.

I recently have been going more and more to things in the SCA, which I am very happy about. War season is just about to sdtart up and I can't wait to go out and fight again. On that note I am at my sister's home for few days so that I can work on her gardens. She has a bunch of huge flower beds that were super overgrown. I needed money and so I asked if I could do anything for her to get it. Now I've almost cleaned them all out by my second day and I am getting money enough to buy myself the metal I want for my new armor, which is a slightly modified suit of asian banded mail . The goal is to look like Akimichi Chouji from Naruto Shippuden, an anime and manga I like. He's my favorite character and I am using the armor this September at Kumoricon, an anime and manga convention I am going to. It's rerally great because I didn't think I would be able to rustle up the stuff for my armor for another three or four months! Super Awesome Win!

Over the holidays, when I was very sick, I lost close to fifty pounds. When I got unsick and got healthy again I put on about ten and am now sitting happily around 280 for the time being. I am really bulking up in comparison to what I used to look like, which is a good thing. Now, instead of my shirts not fitting cause my belly they are starting to not fit cause of my pecs instead. Still having the problem of them not fitting but it's not all bad XD Granted I still have something of a belly but I am working hard to get rid of it. (Start those push-ups Dagimal! XP )

A few weeks ago my cousin Chloe swung by Oregon. She and her friends were road tripping all over America and stuff and They crashed at my place overnight. I frantically cleaned up my place to acceptability as they drove down from Olympia and, when they arrived at my sister's place and my parents went to see them I desperately asked them to stall time. In the end my place was very clean for them and we partied until about 4 am XD I laughed at how one of Chloe's friends was so excited to see the ocean for the first time. The pacific does that to ya ^^

I have done a lot of writing since I last updated. Mostly I have done fanfiction ad the like but I am working around an idea for an original story I want to write and make into a book. I have also met some people in my neighborhood that have become pretty good friends. I have cycled through one girlfriend but it didn't work out as well as we wanted. We're still really good friends though ^^

I guess I don't have anything else to say. Not that I can remember at least. Oh well. If I forgot anything I'll include it in my next update.!
